He using the nickname Irving S. T. Garp in reference to the American writer John Irving's novel "The World According to Garp." Regarding his works he say:
"There, I hope, a certain analogy between the writing of John Irving and my photographic world.
It happens in the books of John Irving's worst disaster in the middle of a single sentence in which we do not expect in an ordinary scene of daily life."
